On Wednesday, the Texas Senate approved legislation that could generate an additional $2.5 billion or more each year for Texas roads. The proposal will tie part of vehicle sales taxes to TxDOT. The measure still needs to pass the House, and because it would alter the state Constitution it would also need voter approval.
