The men and women of the U.S. transportation design, construction and safety industry work every day to not only build a better transportation network for their communities, but also to be good citizens and partners in the neighborhoods where they operate. The American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation’s (ARTBA-TDF) “Helping Hand” Award helps shine a light on these charitable efforts.

The awards program, now in its second year, recognizes “organizations within the transportation industry that have exceptional strategic philanthropic programs that strengthen, build, improve the quality of life and make a positive difference in their communities."  Helping Hand programs eligible for recognition include, but are not limited to, providing humanitarian and environmental relief, initiatives promoting literacy or connecting students and transportation, matching gift programs for employees or transportation escort services for seniors.

Four firms that represent the construction, engineering and infrastructure development industries were winners of the inaugural awards in 2015.

Submit a nomination at www.artbatdf.org. The deadline is March 18.

Winners will be honored at the at the 2016 ARTBA Federal Issues Program May 9-11 in Washington D.C.
