On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Donald Trump secured 295 Electoral College votes, winning the U.S. presidential election against Kamala Harris.

Several construction industry associations have spoken up about the win, submitting public reactions to the results. Here is a sampling:

Associated Equipment Distributors

Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) President and CEO Brian P. McGuire issued the following statement: "Congratulations to President-Elect Donald J. Trump on a successful, hard-fought campaign. AED looks forward to collaborating with the Trump administration and the next Congress to advance our pro-growth, job-creating policy agenda."

"Our country stands at a crossroads where bipartisan cooperation is not just necessary — it is essential. We must rise above gridlock and inaction. Together, Republicans and Democrats have the responsibility to maintain a tax code that fosters growth, to invest in our infrastructure and rural communities, and maintaining and nurturing the next generation of skilled workers who will shape our future. The prosperity of the United States depends on these commitments, and AED members are ready to play a key role in building, feeding, and fueling the country. Now is the time for our elected leaders to set aside partisan divides, prioritize these critical issues, and work hand in hand for the success and future of our nation."

Portland Cement Association

Portland Cement Association President and CEO Mike Ireland released the following statement:

“The Portland Cement Association (PCA) —representing America’s cement manufacturers— congratulates and looks forward to working with President Donald J. Trump and both newly-elected and returning members of Congress. PCA is eager to work with the incoming administration to create market‐based policies and initiatives that will enable the cement and concrete industry’s continued reduction of its carbon footprint while preserving its global competitiveness.

“This industry takes pride in fortifying the actual building blocks of America’s infrastructure, which allows all Americans to lead productive lives, every single day.  We ask that the administration assist us in continuing to gain ground in decarbonization efforts by addressing the regulatory burdens hindering our industry’s progress in the utilization of alternative fuels, the development of lower-carbon cements, and the implementation of essential carbon capture technology.”

Association of Equipment Manufacturers

Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) President Megan Tanel issued the following statement:

“The Association of Equipment Manufacturers congratulates President-elect Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States. We also congratulate Vice President-elect JD Vance and extend our congratulations to the re-elected and newly elected members of Congress, governors, and other state and local officials. We thank the election officials, poll workers, and volunteers who kept our election safe, secure, and accessible to everyone. Their hard work and dedication have yet again upheld the democratic process at the center of our system of self-governance.

AEM’s focus continues to be on policy – not politics. We look forward to working with the Trump-Vance administration and leaders on both sides of the aisle to advance pro-manufacturing tax policies, strengthen rural America, ease regulatory burdens, negotiate new trade agreements, and solve the immigration crisis. Together, we can advance a policy agenda that helps equipment manufacturers create jobs, invest in their communities, and build equipment that makes life better for everyone.”

National Electrical Contractors Association

In light of the recent presidential election, the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) extends its congratulations to President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Vance, elected Senators and Representatives and calls for a renewed commitment to unity and shared purpose within the electrical construction industry. As the industry navigates the road ahead, NECA is eager to work collaboratively to foster growth, innovation, and prosperity for all electrical contractors.

NECA CEO David Long emphasized the importance of solidarity and shared goals. "Through this election we are reminded of our responsibility as leaders in the electrical construction industry to come together and support one another. Regardless of individual perspectives, we are united by our commitment to advancing our industry and building a brighter future for the customers and communities we serve and our hard working employees," said Long. "NECA will continue to advocate for policies that enhance the success of our members with sensible tax policy, permitting reform, and driving the electrification of America."

"Our industry plays a vital role in powering the nation's progress, and we look forward to working with the new administration to support infrastructure investment, job creation, and economic stability," said Marco Giamberardino, NECA's senior vice president of government and public affairs. Giamberardino highlighted the association's dedication to collaborative growth saying, "Through our unified voice and collective efforts, NECA is committed to ensuring that the needs and contributions of our members are at the forefront of national policy discussions."

As NECA and its members move forward, the association reaffirms its dedication to providing resources and advocacy that help members thrive. NECA will work diligently to enhance workforce development, expand access to emerging technologies, and champion solutions that advance both industry success and trade resilience.

Driving Force Action

Driving Force Action congratulates President-Elect Donald J. Trump on a successful campaign and victory. The election was a clear repudiation of government-knows-best policies. Throughout this election, DFA stood with millions of Americans who value the freedom to choose their vehicles without restrictive mandates. At Driving Force Action, we stand firmly behind the freedom of American drivers to choose any vehicle they prefer, including electric vehicles (EVs), without being subjected to mandates that limit their choice. We believe that imposing EV mandates on American drivers and automotive small businesses threatens economic growth and restricts personal freedom, and we are eager to work with President Trump to roll back the mandates implemented by the Biden-Harris Administration. Congratulations once again to President-Elect Donald Trump and the campaign team for their historic achievement. We now look forward to supporting the new President in restoring vehicle choice for all Americans.

Eco Material Technologies

In lieu of President Donald J. Trump’s Presidential win, Grant Quasha, CEO of Eco Material Technologies, issued this statement:

"Eco Material Technologies congratulates President Trump and stands ready to support his vision for American infrastructure and manufacturing growth. Our company's proven track record of producing construction materials domestically, with over 100 facilities serving 4,000 locations across 45 states, demonstrates our commitment to American industry.
