The Post-Tensioning Institute, the leader in post-tensioned, prestressed concrete design and construction, announces the availability of its new manual: “Recommendations for Prestressed Rock and Soil Anchors (PTI DC35.1-14).”

“Recommendations for Prestressed Rock and Soil Anchors” represents the current state of practice in the application of permanent and temporary prestressed rock and soil anchors using high-strength prestressing steel. The manual provides practical guidance for the design, installation, and testing of grouted prestressed rock and soil anchors. These recommendations supersede the 2004 edition and include an added category of Extended Temporary Anchors and new section on Special Prestressing Materials. Additional revisions in this 2014 edition include topics of permanent anchors (Class I protection), minimum tendon bond length requirements, and epoxy coated strand. Also included are new references to ADSC grouted wedge testing.

This document has been prepared by the PTI Committee for Prestressed Rock and Soil Anchors with input and review by the International Association of Foundation Drilling Anchored Earth Retention Committee. Published in 2014, the 109-page manual is available in both printed and digital editions for $75.00 from www.post-tensioning.org.
