Genie has begun adding QR codes to its equipment to help operators and owners quickly access critical machine data, including operator manuals, maintenance schedules, safety information and parts availability.
Positioned in accessible locations — such as near the machine’s serial plate — the QR codes can be scanned with a smartphone or tablet to open the new “Serial Hub,” a digital tool that links directly to information tied to the specific machine’s serial number.
From the Serial Hub, users can view the operator’s manual and maintenance requirements, place parts orders and access other machine-specific resources. The platform is also available through GenieLift.com and the Genie customer portal.
Owners of existing machines can bring older fleet models into the system by purchasing QR code decals and linking them to their machines. Genie says the process is straightforward: scan the new code, input the machine’s serial number, and apply the decal. Replacement decals are also available if the QR code becomes damaged.
With the rollout starting in July, Genie expects all new machines globally to include QR codes by the end of 2025.
