The American Concrete Institute is pleased to announce that Kevin Mlutkowski, ACI’s Director of Sustainability and Marketing, has been recognized as one of the “Rising Leaders for 2015” by the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE), at their annual convention ORGPRO, June 10-12 in Lansing, Michigan. Winners were chosen by the impact they've made on their community and industry, as well as how they've exhibited motivation, forward thinking, and leadership.

Mlutkowski received his Bachelor of Science in technical communications with chemistry minor from Lawrence Technological University, and an MBA from Oakland University. A Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C), Mlutkowski has served on the board of directors for the U.S. Green Building Council Detroit Regional Chapter and as a member of the Environmental Advisory Committee.

At ACI, Mlutkowski works with volunteers, committee members, representatives from other organizations, and fellow staff to increase sustainability content in the Institute’s programs, events, documents, products, and student activities. Additionally, he leads the marketing and communications efforts for ACI, where he has been employed since 2003.
“Kevin is a vital asset to ACI and is considered a rising leader among the staff and governance,” says Douglas J. Sordyl, ACI’s Managing Director Marketing, Sales, and Industry Relations. “Governance often looks to Kevin with special tasks, knowing he is flexible and dependable.”

Mlutkowski says he works with “amazing and diverse” colleagues, members, and leaders throughout the global concrete and green building industry, adding that he learns something from them every day. “Being recognized by the folks within the industry I work to strengthen is sincerely appreciated and underscores the importance of mentoring and sharing our insights with those who choose careers in non-profit management or volunteer at technical institutes and other non-profit organizations,” he says.
