Firefighters rescued two masons dangling from fall-protection harnesses eight stories above a National Institutes of Health parking lot after the scaffolding they were working from partially collapsed late Wednesday morning.

One of the stays for the suspended scaffolding gave way. Both men were wearing fall-protection gear, though, and after treatment for minor injuries they returned to the job site Wednesday afternoon.
