Hawaii's Construction Industry is Booming

Hawaii has seen the value of private building permits issued during the first half of 2015 increase nearly 37% compared to one year ago. Commercial and industrial construction permits increased 183%, residential permits increased 96% and government contracts increased by about 103%. The value of permits for additions and alterations declined by 20%.

In addition, construction jobs increased 3%, the second highest growth among all Hawaii's industries.
