According to the Gilbane Summer 2015 Construction Economics Report, nonresidential building spending could exceed 20% in 2015. The first six months of the year saw construction spending in residential, nonresidential building and non building structures increase at their fastest pace since 2004-2005.
The Gilbane report projects total construction spending will expand by 10.9% in 2015 — the second highest growth total ever recorded — and by more than 8% in 2016.
In addition, construction starts are expected to rise by 13.1% in 2015.
