According to the New York Building Congress, schools, hospitals, courts, libraries and other institutions have accounted for nearly $2.9 billion worth of construction projects in the first six months of 2015 — nearly matching the $3 billion worth of projects initiated in the second half of 2014. In the first half of 2014, institutions initiated only about $796 million worth of construction.
