Numerous challenges including harsh winter weather, changes in project staging, modifications to the existing steel arch and steel reinforcement activities have pushed completion of the Bayonne Bridge "Raise the Roadway" project from 2017 to mid-2019.

The joint venture of Skanska Koch/Kiewit Infrastructure Co. is heading the construction project which is currently nearly halfway done. So far, $380 million of the $1.3 billion construction project has been put in place.

The two-year setback would result in a nearly 15% increase in total project costs.
