Kiewit-Turner Tapped to Finish Troubled VA Colorado Hospital Construction

Kiewit-Turner receives $571 million contract to finish hospital construction; project completion pushed back to 2018

Denver Business Journal

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded Kiewit-Turner a $571 million contract to finish construction on the over budget and behind schedule U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in Aurora, Colo. The project's completion date has also been pushed back from 2017 to January 23, 2018.

Kiewit-Turner served as the original general contractor on the project since 2010 but in 2014 won a judgment against the VA and walked away from the project after a Civilian Board of Contract Appeals decided the VA had breached its contract with Kiewit-Turner.
