SC Nuclear Project to Generate an Additional 1,000 Construction Jobs

The project currently has 3,500 construction workers which will ramp up to around 4,500 later this year during peak construction

The VC Summer plant in Jenkinsville, S.C., will be adding another 1,000 workers to its construction workforce to help build two new nuclear reactors. The project currently has 3,500 construction workers which will ramp up to around 4,500 later this year during peak construction.

In October, Fluor came onboard as the main contractor replacing Chicago, Bridge and Iron. Westinghouse is serving as a subcontractor under Fluor on this project.
