The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA), the body overseeing construction of the Minnesota Vikings new football stadium, has agreed to a deal to resolve millions in disputed costs for the new stadium. The tentative deal won't be final until stadium construction in complete in late July.

Dispute Arises Over Millions in Change Orders for Construction of Minnesota Vikings New Stadium

MSFA will put $16.25 million into an escrow account while the building's designers will add an undisclosed amount in escrow for contractor Mortenson Construction. Once stadium construction is complete, Mortenson has the option to accept or reject the escrow money. If the contractor chooses to reject the money, the dispute would move to binding arbitration.

As part of the deal, the Vikings team will contribute an addition $5.5 million which will be dedicated to specific upgrades including metal detectors, more cable access and enhancements to the exterior plaza.
