The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has reported that the price of building materials has declined 2.3% since June, the largest drop since April 2020. Prices reduced 0.8% in September. One of the highlights: softwood lumber prices are 14.5% higher than a year ago, but are 39.6% lower than a year ago. Prices for steel mill products, gypsum and ready-mix concrete were also down in September.
NAHB's report added that the price of truck transportation of freight has slightly declined, leading to an overall drop of 4.5% since the start of August.
