Illinois Senators Propose Opposing Bills on Public- Private Partnerships

Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) proposed legislation to ease regulations related to creating public-private partnerships that fund public infrastructure, saying it would create around $100 billion for projects that governments can ill afford. Kirk's Lincoln Legacy Infrastructure Development Act runs counter to a bill proposed by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) which would restrict privatized infrastructure.
