Democrats Push Airport Construction Funding as a Jobs Measure

Democratic leaders plan to bring an aviation bill that includes $8 billion for airport construction to the Senate floor this week.

Democratic leaders in the Senate intend to bring to the floor this week an aviation bill containing $8 billion for airport construction. Although identical to a bill that passed the Senate last spring, but later stalled, Democrats expect a smoother flight this time around, thanks to recent estimates that say the airport construction funds will support employment of 90,000 workers and affect another 190,000 jobs.
