Cement and Fly Ash Available at 2015 CIM Auction at WOC

The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program is pleased to announce the following list of cement and fly ash items have been donated for the tenth annual Auction at the World of Concrete.

The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program – a business intensive program that awards students with a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Concrete Industry Management – is pleased to announce the following list of cement and fly ash items have been donated for their tenth annual Auction at the World of Concrete. The Auction is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 4 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. The silent Auction will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. PST in North Hall Room N263 and the live Auction begins at 1 p.m PST next door in North Hall Room N262.

“Thanks to the tremendous response from the industry, we anticipate having the best CIM Auction ever,” says Mike Philipps, CIM Auction Chairman. “In addition to our signature concrete mixer truck donated by Mack Trucks, Inc. and McNeilus Company, we have a variety of items targeted specifically for the concrete industry.”

This year’s Auction also offers bucket list sports and vacation packages including: The Masters; The Rose Bowl; NFL tickets; NASCAR races; NBA and NHL; San Francisco Bay sailing package; Los Angeles, San Antonio, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Orlando, Nashville, Charlotte, New Orleans, New York and Las Vegas travel packages, college football tickets; quail hunts and much, much more!

“The National Steering Committee (NSC) is pleased by the overwhelming support of the cement and fly ash industry with their support of the CIM program,” said CIM Marketing Committee Chairman Brian Gallagher. This year, a large number of companies have donated truckloads of cement and fly ash for the CIM Auction in a variety of types and amounts.

Cement and Fly Ash-Focused Auction Items:

  • Argos Cement has donated five truckloads of Type I bulk Portland cement, to be picked up at a manufacturing facility in either Harleyville, S.C. or Roberta, Ala.
  • CalPortland has donated five truckloads of Portland cement that can be picked up at a CalPortland location.
  • CEMEX has donated ten truckloads of Type I/II Portland Cement that can be picked up at a CEMEX U.S. plant location.
  • Continental Cement has donated two truckloads of cement, to be picked up at any Continental Cement location.
  • Eagle Materials - Central Plains Cement Company has donated three truckloads of Type I/II Portland cement.
  • Essroc Cement Corp. has donated five loads of cement that can be picked up at an Essroc Cement location.
  • GCC has donated five truckloads of Type I/II cement that can be picked up at a GCC location.
  • Headwaters Resources has donated five loads of fly ash that can be picked up at any Headwaters plant.
  • Holcim (US) has donated ten truckloads of Type I/II Portland Cement that can be picked up at a Holcim U.S. plant location.
  • Illinois Cement has donated three truckloads of Type I Portland Cement that can be picked up at an Illinois Cement plant.
  • Lafarge North America has donated ten truckloads of Portland Cement that can be picked up at a Lafarge location.
  • Lehigh Hanson has donated ten truckloads of cement that can be picked up at a Lehigh Hanson U.S. location.
  • Martin Marietta has donated five loads of Type I/II (TX) or Type II/V (CA) cement that can be picked up at their cement plant in Midlothian, Texas, Hunter, Texas or Oro Grande, Calif.
  • Mitsubishi Cement Corporation has donated five loads of Type II/IV Portland cement.
  • National Cement has donated five truckloads of Type I/II Portland cement that can be picked up at a National Cement location.
  • Roanoke Cement has donated five truckloads of Type I/II Portland cement that can be picked up at a Roanoke Cement location.
  • Salt River Materials Group has donated four bulk truckloads of Phoenix Fly Ash Class F Pozzolan that can be picked up at Salt River Materials Group locations.
  • St. Marys Cement, Inc. (US) has donated five truckloads of Type I bulk Portland cement that can be picked up at various St. Marys Cement locations.
  • Titan Florida has donated five loads of cement, bulk or bagged, of either Type I Portland cement, ASTM C91 masonry cement, or ASTM C91 stucco cement that can be picked up at the Titan Florida Pennsuco plant in Medley, Fla.

Once again, in addition to on-site bidding, internet bidding will be available on the Ritchie Bros. website, www.rbauction.com/heavy-equipment-auctions/cim-charity-auction. To participate in the Live Auction on-line, bidders must register one week in advance.

This year, all items are available for bid whether in attendance at the show or not. Bidding can begin on the 100-plus items in the silent auction immediately and continue bidding on any mobile device straight through the event. The live auction items will only be available for bidding during the event itself, but can be bid on either in person or on-line.
