Founded in 1976 and specialized in the production of mobile concrete batching plants and self-loading concrete mixers, the Italian company Carmix Metalgalante launches an innovative service at Conexpo 2020 in Las Vegas, currently limited to the American market. The service - called US Carmix Concrete - is intended to support construction companies requiring short-time quality concrete in sites that are difficult to reach by large batching plants such as those in city centres.

This concrete supply service was created in collaboration with the American interdisciplinary engineering company Thallus Group. It will provide building companies with a package of Metalgalante machines, including Carmix 3500 TC - a concentrate of technology and design offering a powerful and versatile working tool, Carsilos - a horizontal cement silo equipped with a flexible screw conveyor and an electronic weighing system, and a truck for transporting the machines. Additionally, the package includes service and customer care.

"Equally to other sectors, the future in the construction industry lies in offering not only products but also services, said Massimiliano Galante, Managing Director of Carmix Metalgalante. The idea of US Carmix Concrete is an innovative, high-value-added service providing building companies with everything they need to produce certified high-quality concrete. I am confident that this initiative will have great development margins especially in congested sites that require agile and highly productive equipment such as Carmix 3500 TC, a virtuous example of design and technology ensuring operators high productivity and cost optimization on site, thanks to Concrete Mate".

First project with Mastec for sidewalk repair in West Palm Beach

Launched as a service in early 2020, US Carmix Concrete had Mastec as its first client, a construction company with $9 billion a year in sales, specialized in large civil works, transportation, telecommunications and Oil&Gas. The work involved repairing sidewalk pavements after optical fibre laying. In particular, Mastec required the laying of 2500 PSI concrete that was certified by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Mastec selected US Carmix Concrete for its working versatility and the possibility to order even minimum concrete amounts, as well as for its flexibility and ability to work in any situation and at any time. Concrete volumes are prepared according to daily requirements within max. 30 minutes, irrespective of concrete type and quantity, unlike fixed batching plants that require placing orders days in advance with minimum guaranteed quantities. This project will include the use of two Carmix 3500 TC machines, with an output forecast of about 2000 m3 of concrete per month.

"This first order - concluded Massimiliano Galante - is an important indicator of the market's demand for a customized service for special types of construction sites. Our machines are designed to produce concrete of the highest quality, with special attention to cost optimization and a noticeable productivity increase. This is achieved thanks to Concrete Mate, a high-tech kit mounted on Carmix 3500 TC, and a complete package service that ensures the best concrete where and when it is needed".

"The American civil construction industry and the concrete procurement system require constructors to adapt their work organization to material availability, resulting in costs and inefficiencies that are difficult to support - added Francesco Perfetti, Managing Director and Partner of US Carmix Concrete. "US Carmix Concrete will provide industry operators with an innovative alternative solution, including the introduction of a wide range of Carmix machines in the American market, together with a network of affiliates in charge of concrete delivery service, meeting any need in terms of delivery time, quantity and product quality".
