How Payload Weighing Tech and Telematics Lifted Fill-Hauling Production 38%

Filling a swamp to build a new ring road in Queensland, Australia, got a major boost from loaders with Trimble's on-board weighing systems and truck telematics for maximizing haul routes

At a presentation during Trimble’s Dimensions user conference this week, Australian contractor Seymour Whyte explained how Trimble’s ‘Legal for Trade’ Loadrite weighing system on the wheel loaders and haul-truck telematics raised production for filling a swamp from 8,000 tonnes of material per day to 11,000 tonnes.

The Townsville Ringroad Section Four (TRR4) is the final stage of a major upgrade project in central Queensland, Australia. It will cross swamp land, which means that rather than cut-to-fill earthworks, the project required 100% import of fill material from local quarries.

Read this Trimble profile on how the quarries and contractor doubled loads hauled by up to 80 trucks on the project by bypassing the weighbridge and managing on-road haul routes.
