FAE’s app now lets operators remotely control RCU tracked carriers via smartphone, providing backup operation, real-time data, diagnostics and maintenance alerts.

FAE has introduced a new feature to its mobile app that allows remote-controlled tracked carriers—specifically the RCU55, RCU75, and RCU120 models—to be operated directly via smartphone or tablet if the handheld remote control is unavailable. The update provides a backup solution for moving machines in case of signal loss or hardware failure.

Using the FAE App, operators can now:

  • Start or stop the diesel engine and adjust RPMs
  • Drive, steer, and reverse the carrier
  • Raise or lower the attachment
  • Adjust the track width by extending or narrowing the undercarriage

All movements occur at limited speeds to prioritize operator safety.

The feature is included on all new RCU machines and can be added to existing models through a software update, available on request.

In addition to this new control functionality, the FAE App also supports a range of machine management tools:

  • Real-time monitoring: View key data like engine load, fuel consumption, and hydraulic pressure, plus receive live alerts for system faults.
  • Diagnostics: Get descriptions of any detected issues, the components involved, and exportable reports to assist with repairs.
  • Maintenance tracking: View upcoming service intervals and tasks based on machine hours.

The FAE App is available for both iOS and Android devices.
