RodRadar has expanded its LDR Excavate™ product line with two new excavator bucket types designed for heavy equipment commonly used on major infrastructure projects. The update brings the company’s real-time underground utility detection technology — Live Dig Radar (LDR) — to a wider range of machines.
The new buckets were developed in response to contractor and dealer input, addressing the need for real-time utility detection on larger jobsites such as data centers, airports, solar installations and civil works.
New bucket specifications include:
- Type 4: Fits 20–30 metric ton machines | 36” (92 cm) width
- Type 5: Fits 30–40 metric ton machines | 36” (92 cm) width
The buckets feature RodRadar’s embedded Live Dig Radar technology, which provides operators with immediate feedback on the presence of underground utilities during excavation. By integrating detection directly into the bucket, the system helps reduce the risk of utility strikes without requiring separate scanning equipment or additional workflow steps.
With the release of these larger bucket sizes, RodRadar enables broader adoption of its utility detection system across high-demand construction environments — where safety, efficiency and precision are critical.
