John Deere has introduced the 40 P-Tier Compact Excavator for landscaping, rental, utility and general construction applications. The machine combines digging and lifting capabilities with a compact design that can be transported without a commercial driver’s license.

The 40 P-Tier is available with options including a hydraulic pin-grabber coupler, rearview camera, factory-installed thumb, angle blade and auxiliary hydraulic packages. Attachment Manager technology allows operators to recall preset hydraulic settings for compatible attachments, simplifying attachment changes.

John Deere is also introducing the ME28 Mulching Head for the 40 P-Tier. Designed for right-of-way maintenance, fence-line clearing and work in tight spaces, the attachment features a variable-speed motor, durable rotor and reversible Cubit knife-style teeth.

The excavator includes an 8-inch touchscreen display, CommandARM, an electronic pattern changer and standard JDLink connectivity. Available cab features include heat and air conditioning, premium seating and additional storage, while accessible daily service points simplify routine maintenance.
