JCB releases three new compact excavators with operating weights from 10,000 to 12,500 lbs. The 48Z-1 replaces the previous 8045Z; the 55Z-1, takes over from the 8055ZTS/RTS; and the 57C-1 is a completely new model. All three share the durable design proven on the larger machines in JCB’s next-generation compact excavator range, with 100% steel bodywork and sturdy, four-plate dipper arm construction. They are available in conventional and zero tailswing configurations.

- Upgraded hydraulic system delivers up to 9% more bucket breakout force and 2% higher dipper arm breakout
- 57C-1 uses the same operator cab as the company's larger 22,000-lb. machine, featuring an 18% increase in space and up to 11% more visibility
- Display screen and control system include an automotive-style rotary dial to allow easy access to a host of systems and information
- Soft button switch panel controls auxiliary flow settings, working lights, beacon, wipers and ’s 2Go additional hydraulic activation safety system
- Electrohydraulic dozer control lever with up to three buttons in the head to control standard auto kick-down two-speed tracking and the optional dozer float and four-way blade
- Optional Safe Lift feature with an integral Lift Overload warning system
- Redesigned pin pick-up points compatible with a variety of bucket brands
- Optional hydraulic or manual quick hitches
