John Deere has expanded its production-class equipment lineup with the introduction of the 844 and 904 X-Tier Wheel Loaders.

The new wheel loaders are designed for high-production material handling applications and feature the company’s Electric Variable Transmission system, which electronically manages power delivery to improve efficiency and machine response.

According to John Deere, the EVT system enables single-pedal operation and separates hydraulic performance from engine speed to help maintain consistent power while reducing operator input.

The loaders also include a new Pile Slip Assist feature intended to improve traction and bucket fill performance. Larger bucket options are designed to increase material movement per pass and help reduce tire wear.

John Deere said operators can choose between Standard Mode, which offers up to 15% fuel savings, and Performance Mode, which can increase productivity by up to 5% compared to previous P-Tier models.

Optional Advanced Vision System and object detection technology use digital cameras and integrated displays to improve side and rear visibility for operators in aggregate and material handling environments.
