Liberty Tire Recycling Receives GREENGUARD Certification

PITTSBURGHLiberty Tire Recycling, a premier provider of tire recycling services in North America, has become the first company to achieve GREENGUARD Synthetic Turf Components Certification from the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, an unbiased third-party organization that strives to improve public health and quality of life through programs that reduce chemical exposure and improve indoor air quality. All products certified by GREENGUARD are rigorously tested to ensure they meet a series of strict chemical emissions standards based on established criteria from key public health agencies.

Synthetic turf infill manufactured at the following Liberty Tire Recycling production plants has received GREENGUARD Synthetic Turf Components Certification: Calhoun, Georgia; Braddock, Pennsylvania; Salt Lake City, Utah; Des Moines, Iowa; Port St. Lucie, Florida; and Brunner, Ontario, Canada.

The GREENGUARD Synthetic Turf Components Certification ensures that synthetic turf components meet stringent, third-party requirements for chemical emissions, lead content, and heavy metal migration.The certification is based, in part, on the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, European toy safety standard criteria for heavy metals, and the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment's Chronic Reference Exposure Levels for volatile organic compounds.
