FORT MILL, SC -- Sunbelt Rentals announced today the appointment of Brendan Horgan as the Company’s chief executive officer. He also joins the Board of Ashtead Group plc, Sunbelt Rentals’ parent company, as an executive director. Horgan replaces Joe Phelan whose administration as CEO and a director of Ashtead formally ended at the close of business on January 25, 2011.
The new position marks the culmination of Horgan’s successful 15-year career with Sunbelt Rentals, during which he has made invaluable contributions to the Company’s growth. Joining Sunbelt Rentals in 1996, Horgan has held a number of senior management positions, including chief operating officer and chief sales officer.
