Volvo Rents Prepares to Start Company-Owned Stores

Separates from Volvo Construction Equipment to 'strengthen its profile'

As the North American business cycle is showing signs of recovery, Volvo Construction Equipment expects Volvo CE Rents to play an increasingly important role in securing sales. And the company is embarking on a new course where it will not only run a franchise network of rental stores, but will also run company owned stores. Whether the store will be a franchise or owned by Volvo depends on the given circumstances in the market.

To strengthen the profile of Volvo CE Rents and make the company more independent from Volvo CE, it has been decided that Volvo CE Rents will become a subsidiary to AB Volvo and will no longer be a part of Volvo CE.

Scott Hall has been appointed president and CEO of Volvo Rents which will also be the new name of the company. Hall will report to the chairman of the Volvo Rents board, Mikael Bratt, CFO of AB Volvo.

Hall will leave his position as executive vice president and head of global sales and marketing at Volvo CE after 11 successful years and relocate to the new Volvo Rents headquarters in Shippensburg, Penn.

Barry Natwick will take up a new position as chief operating officer of Volvo Rents, reporting to Hall. The successor to Hall's global sales position is expected to be announced shortly.
