Governors of KY and IN Agree to Split Two Louisville Bridge Projects

$2.6 billion in projects would begin in 2012

Governor Steve Beshear of Kentucky and Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana reached an agreement on a plan to build two bridges across the Ohio River in the Louisville area.

In an attempt to streamline the massive project, the plan splits construction and cost, with Indiana building an East End bridge and Kentucky erecting a new downtown span.

Construction of the $2.6 billion in projects would begin in 2012.
