Ohio Preps to Begin $2.1 Billion in Transportation Construction

Work will include repaving, lane widening, bridge building and interchange redesigns

The Ohio Department of Transportation’s 2016 construction plan includes more than 1,100 projects that will cost about $2.1 billion. In central Ohio alone, ODOT has plans for 86 projects totaling $354 million.

“All of these projects are building on each other to help position and keep this area a strong economic hub for central Ohio,” said William Murdock, executive director of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.

Work across the state will include repaving, lane widening, bridge building and interchange redesigns. A portion of the work is focused on Interstate 270 in Central Ohio.
