Rouse: Fleet Size Increases 5% This Year

Total industry fleet size of the major North American rental firms tracked by Rouse Asset Services increased 5.1%, as measured by OEC (cost), from June 2010 to June 2011, according to Rouse's August Construction Rental Report.

The number of units increased 1.7% over the year. Although total fleet size increased moderately, individual categories saw more dramatic changes. Rental fleets are 10.1% smaller, as measured by OEC, fromthe September 2008 OEC peak, and 15.5% smaller, measured by number of units from the June 2008 units peak.
