A Dayton-area logistics facility built by Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) is providing an economic jolt for the recession-depleted Western Ohio region with plans to hire hundreds of additional workers in the next year, the Dayton Daily News reports.
Caterpillar has already hired 115 to staff the $69 million, 1.6 million-square-foot logistics facility, and started a second shift last week. By this time next year, the company expects that site to be in round-the-clock operation.
