Tensar Subsidiary Adds Slope Stabilization Solutions with Acquisition

Tensar Corporation’s Geopier Foundation Company subsidiary (“Geopier”), a leader in ground improvement solutions, announced its acquisition of Slope Reinforcement Technology, LLC (“SRT”).

The acquisition allows Geopier to offer slope stabilization solutions while boosting SRT’s market reach. Geopier has historically focused on providing vertical ground reinforcement in support of foundations and their structures. SRT has concentrated on slopes that have failed or are potentially unstable.

“SRT is an ideal fit for us because of the complementary solutions each company offers,” said Kord J. Wissmann, PhD, president of Geopier. “We will leverage our marketing, sales and engineering strengths with SRT’s in-depth knowledge of slope repair technologies to create a powerful and complete solution for our clients and customers.”

The partnership supplements Geopier’s industry leading portfolio, which includes the efficient and cost effective Rammed Aggregate Pier (RAP) Systems. These systems are effective replacements for massive over-excavation and replacement or deep foundations, including driven piles, drilled shafts or augered cast-in-place piles.

The acquisition also gives customers easier access to the SRT solution through Geopier’s broad network of installers.

SRT offers the patented Platepileä method for slope reinforcement and repair, which provides slope stabilization using an array of steel or aluminum elements driven into the slope in a staggered array of uniformly spaced rows.
