McLaughlin has extended its Vermeer MEGA VAC vacuum excavator product line with new PTO-driven options. The Vermeer VXT truck series comes in three standard spoil capacity options: the 6-yd. VXT6, 8-yd. VXT8 and 10-yd. VXT10.
- 6-in. system featuring spoil tank capacities ranging from 1,200 to 2,000 gal. and a standard option of 800 gal. of fresh water
- Larger spoil tank capacities from 2,200, 2,600 and 3,000 gal. available for off-road applications
- OMSI gearbox drives the ROOTS blower at 18 in. of mercury and 3,200 cfm, plus supplies hydraulic power to drive a 10-gpm/3,000-psi water pump
- CAN Control system can be used to start the machine, control idle speed, dump spoils, open the rear door and control full boom operation
- Controls also give a full readout on performance of the engine, blower and water pump
- Vacuum Neutral feature allows an operator to work safely near the boom without having to shut the vacuum off
- VXT6 and the VXT8 MEGA VACs built on a 10-wheel Peterbilt chassis
- Optional Air-Weigh scale system informs the operator when a truck hits its preprogrammed maximum axle weights
