Makita has released two saw chain sharpening kits to retain sharpness levels for both chain saws and pole saws. The kits are self-contained and can be used to maintain saw chains.
The new kits are part of the continuing expansion of Makita’s outdoor power equipment lineup with more equipment and tools including chain saws and pole saws. Makita currently offers 15 battery powered chain saws and four pole saws across the XGT and LXT cordless systems.
“Pros know the value of a sharp chain, with many contractors and arborists sharpening their chain before starting their workday,” said Nicole Tougas, product manager, outdoor power equipment, Makita U.S.A., Inc. “These sharpening kits enable users to maintain their saw chains and keep that fresh out-of-the-box factory sharpened cut quality.”
Applications
The 5/32-in. Chain Sharpening Kit (D-75910) and the 4.5-mm Chain Sharpening Kit (D-75926) are designed for arborists, linemen, contractors, loggers and more. Proper chain maintenance and sharpening for pole saws and chain saws allows more material to be removed per cut, resulting in cutting performance.
All-In-One-Kit
Recognizing that pros need to have a durable sharpening kit that can reside with their everyday tool kit to be used when needed, Makita designed the D-75910 and the D-75926 to include a saw chain file, a file guide, a flat file, a depth gauge tool and two extra file handles. The saw chain file is used together with the file guide to sharpen saw chain cutting teeth, and the flat file is used with the depth gauge tool to maintain proper saw chain depth gauge settings. The kit is offered in a storage bag to protect the tools from the elements. Makita also offers replacements for the round files and the flat files in either a two-pack or 12-pack bundle.

The addition of these accessories compliment the Makita chain saw and pole saw lineup with a durable kit to keep their tools operating. Makita has engineered both the 5/32-in. Chain Sharpening Kit (D-75910) and the 4.5-mm Chain Sharpening Kit (D-75926) to correspond to chain saws and pole saws that use these size chains.
