E-Verify...the Form I-9s companion will be the topic in this second session of a two-part series. E-Verify is the free web-based service administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) that allows enrolled employers to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their new hires. From the federal perspective, E-Verify is voluntary for most users although mandatory, in some form or fashion, in over 20 states and for a host of federal contractors. We’ll review recent enhancements, when’s the earliest you can create a case in E-Verify, the tentative non-confirmation process, how you can check your ‘own’ work eligibility (myE-Verify) along with some advanced good to know tips.
Upon conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Have a better understanding, how to enroll and use E-Verify
- What states mandate the use of E-Verify and which federal contractors have to enroll
- Provide resources to improve your employment eligibility verification compliance processes and program
- Discuss real-world examples that will assist in your understanding and answer questions you may have
