According to the Journal Star, Cat will close three component production facilities in Sterling and Dixon, Ill., which will affect approximately 170 jobs. The work will be moved to a facility in Michigan in an effort to cut costs and increase efficiency. The consolidation of these three plants to the one in Michigan should be complete by the first quarter of 2015.
