Homeland Security Committee Approves $10B for Border Wall

The Border Security for America Act also includes funds to improve ports of entry and add more border security agents

The House Homeland Security Committee approved a border security bill  known as the Border Security for America Act  that includes $10 billion for the U.S./Mexico border wall. The bill passed with an 18-12 vote.

In addition to $10 billion for border wall funding, the bill also includes $5 billion to improve ports of entry and adds 5,000 agents to both the Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection.

The legislation now heads to the House floor.
