Used Rental-Equipment Prices Edge Up 0.6% in April

The Rouse Value Index measures the average orderly liquidation values each month for benchmark models across fourteen major rental-equipment categories.

The March index was 52.1% higher than the prior trough in June 2009.

Orderly liquidation values for the 14 categories of used rental machines are expressed as percentages of replacement cost (average cost paid for a new unit by large rental companies and dealers) for the average age of equipment sold within that category.

Values of used telescopic-boom aerial work platforms have increased the most (8.1%) over the past six months.

Orderly liquidation values of skid steer loaders have fallen the most (-4.0%) over the past six months.
