The Washington Department of Labor and Industries has opened investigations with four companies involved in dismantling the crane. Questions remain as to why traffic was not restricted on the street below and if high winds played a part in the collapse.

The Department of Labor and Industries is interviewing GLY Construction, the general contractor, Northwest Tower Crane Service, the subcontractor dismantling the crane, Omega Morgan, another subcontractor which removed sections of the crane, and Morrow Equipment, which owns the crane.
