The True Value rental team’s momentum continues to build after it introduced new tools and resources for its retailers at the 2012 True Value Spring and Rental Market in Orlando, FL. More than 3,000 retailers and more than 1,000 vendors joined the rental team at the three-day market.
“We introduced a variety of tools, resources and programs to help its rental retailers be more successful in 2012,” said Michelle Henebry Finnigan, director, Rental & MRO at True Value. “The Spring Market was all about new programs and ideas.”
Among the items introduced were:
- A new Just Ask Rental logo for True Value Hardware retailers that have incorporated a rental business within their store. The updated and contemporary design echoes the focus of the company while staying true to the rental business of being easy to do business with, for both the customer and the retailer. All Just Ask Rental DTV candidates will automatically incorporate the new logo during remodels.
- A new Rental Electronic Ordering System (REOS) for the retailers to use when placing orders. Pre-planning with REOS provides more time for hands-on training and other educational experiences while attending trade shows. This happens because all ordering could be done prior to market opening by using this system. REOS allows the retailers to create a “target list” for rental equipment before a market or rental show for product from the regional distribution centers or drop ship from a supplier.
“Talk was all about REOS — this new time-saving tool for busy retailers,” said Finnigan. “In fact, more than 60 percent of the orders submitted to date have come through REOS, confirming our retailers’ desire to expedite online services.”
Also available to retailers during the market were additional educational and networking opportunities, including a general session meeting, a seminar on financial performance benchmarks and a rental business update.
