Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam's hotly debated transportation-funding plan has made its way out of the General Assembly.
After hours of debate, both the House of Representatives and the Senate on Wednesday approved the governor's transportation plan, which most notably includes an increase to the state's gas and diesel tax by 6 cents and 10 cents respectively, in addition to several tax cuts.
There are differences between the versions passed, but if either the House or Senate agrees to conform to the other, then the bill could avoid going to conference committee.
