Simformotion has released a new Cat Simulators Next Gen Excavator Underground Utilities training package focused on excavation around buried utility lines.

The package includes four exercises covering water, gas and electrical utilities. Operators practice exposing damaged water lines, extending water services, exposing gas and water lines in congested areas and excavating around electrical service lines.

The simulations are designed to help operators practice precision digging, trenching, depth control and safe excavation around existing utilities in a virtual construction environment.

Cat Simulators systems include Cat machine controls, walkaround inspection training and reporting software that tracks learner performance against Caterpillar benchmarks. The exercises are available in multiple languages.

The package also aligns with Simformotion’s SimScholars online curriculum, which includes instructor and learner guides, videos and quizzes for classroom or remote training.
