CURT Safety Best Practices Workshop

Workshop will share lessons of different methods used to improve safety results on construction projects

Join the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in Austin, Texas, for a best practices workshop on safety, and learn what you can do to prepare for zero.

Event: CURT Best Practices Workshop on Safety

As a result of the diversity of starting points, differing perspectives and a variety of beliefs, there is a need for utilization of an array of methods and strategies to bring all participants on board with the results. During this workshop, CURT members and contractors will share lessons of many different methods which have been used to improve the safety results on construction projects. All of these have started from a different place on the full spectrum of approaches.

The purpose of this session is to offer support for both experienced and novices on their journey to zero. Through the experiences of those who have implemented programs on existing sites, new corporate-wide initiatives, and for specific new projects, participants will learn about the principles, pitfalls and suggestions for improvement from those who have learned through direct engagement in initiating change. The workshop is formatted to permit all attendees to actively participate and to engage in interactive discussions with others facing the challenges of doing more with fewer resources.

Topics to be covered include:

  • What preparation for achieving zero means
  • Setting the stage for a safe construction project
  • CURT safety metrics
  • Site specific and general requirements to train for safety
  • Preparing the workforce for safety
