The National Safety Council today recognized six individuals with the highest honor it bestows on safety professionals. Each year, Distinguished Service to Safety Awards are presented to individuals who, throughout their careers, have demonstrated outstanding service to the field of safety and health.
This year's six honorees were recognized at the Opening Session of the NSC Congress & Expo – the largest gathering of safety and health professionals. Honorees are nominated either by one of the NSC occupational safety volunteer groups or the Board of Directors.
"Through their lifetime dedication to safety and health these individuals have moved their organizations forward on the Journey to Safety Excellence," said Janet Froetscher, National Safety Council president and CEO. "As we celebrate 100 years of safety at this year's Congress & Expo, these honorees join a distinguished group of DSSA recipients who have left a strong legacy of saving lives and preventing injuries."
