CONEXPO-CON/AGG announced the winners of its Next Level Awards during a March 6, 2026, event on the Ground Breakers Stage, with show attendees selecting the top innovations in equipment and technology.

After three days of voting, attendees chose Husco’s GenSteer steer-by-wire system as the Contractors’ Choice for best equipment and Gravis Robotics’ Gravis Rack as the Contractors’ Choice for best technology.

From March 3–5, attendees reviewed the finalists across the 2.9 million-square-foot show floor before casting their votes. The winners were announced by CONEXPO-CON/AGG Show Chair Eric Sauvage and Show Director Dana Wuesthoff.

The Next Level Awards highlight new developments in construction equipment and technology. Twenty finalists were selected by a panel of industry judges from a broad field of submissions.

Husco GenSteer

Husco’s GenSteer is a steer-by-wire system designed for mobile machines. The system uses integrated architecture to provide fail-functional steering capability without duplicating hardware and software, aiming to improve safety, reliability and control for wheeled off-highway equipment.

Steer-by-wire technology is expected to play a role in future machine automation and advanced control systems.

Gravis Robotics Gravis Rack

The Gravis Rack system adds sensors, cameras and onboard computing to conventional earthmoving machines. The platform provides operators with real-time cut and fill visibility, analytics, augmented-reality guidance and people detection.

The system can also support autonomous excavation functions, including trenching, bulk excavation and truck loading, with operators monitoring machines through a tablet interface.

The Next Level Awards debuted at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023, when Holcim’s ECOPact low-carbon concrete was selected as the inaugural Contractors’ Choice winner.
