House GOP Proposes $11.5 Billion Cut in Transport Funding for 2011

Congress faces March 4 deadline to pass legislation to cut federal spending to 2008 and fund the government through the September 30 end of the fiscal year

Transportation and Housing funding for fiscal-year 2011 would be reduced by 17%, or $11.5 billion, in an effort to reduce federal spending to 2008 levels (pre-ARRA and financial bailout).
