Transportation Committee Lawmakers May Oppose Maine Budget Bill

Threaten to vote against state general fund budget that leaves out road and bridge repairs

Members of the Maine Legislature's Transportation Committee are threatening to vote against the state general fund budget because it does not include money for road and bridge repairs they were expecting.

Gov. Paul LePage had proposed $20 million from general revenues for to fund highway programs. He reduced that to $10 million, and that was eliminated by the Appropriations Committee.
