US GDP Up 1.3% in Second Quarter, Jobless Claims Plunge

Continuing jobless claims declined 20,000 to 3.74 million

Two encouraging U.S. economic reports were released Thursday: jobless claims plunged 37,000 to 391,000 last week and U.S. gross domestic product in the second quarter was revised slightly higher, to 1.3% from 1.0%.
