Construction Employment Set to Outpace Manufacturing Employment

Building trade jobs are up 4.2% while factory jobs are up only 1.3%

Construction employment is expected to grow faster in the coming quarters than manufacturing employment. Both industries are expanding, and in the earlier years manufacturers were the ones hiring. However, in 2013 that changed as construction's dominance began to grown.

The construction industry has added about 260,000 workers over the last year while factories only added 160,000 workers. In percentage terms, building trade jobs are up 4.2% while factory jobs are up only 1.3%.
